Kilkenny Attractions ~ plus New City Hotels Discounts

Kilkenny is an enduringly popular destination. Aside from the atmosphere and lively life of the city the dominant attraction is, of course, Kilkenny Castle which dates from the 13th century and was once the home of the Butler family. Its venerable antiquity should spur you to even more discoveries of historic places and sights of interest.

If you were to follow a religious theme, you may also like to see St. John's Priory which dates from the 1200's, the interesting St. Francis Abbey, the Dominican's Black Abbey founded in 1225 and the striking 13th century St. Canice's Cathedral.

There is so much more to Kilkenny, both city and county, and to discover it all you can check out the recent updates for discounts on the Ireland hotels offers section of our website.

St. Patrick's Day Festival ~ plus Temple Bar Hotel Offers

Just a quick check today to see if my greenest garments are all in order for the St. Patrick's day parade. The festival this year runs over five days with a full programme of exciting and free events. Take to the streets with some Irish dancing on a marathon scale at the lively Festival Ceili, and join the rest of the crowds at the fun-filled street carnival in Merrion Square. Tired limbs after the big parade will be no excuse for not sharing in the fun at the Festival Treasure Hunt. This blazes a trail across Dublin's famous landmarks and with this year's 'Exploreres' theme, everybody is asked to gear up suitably in convincing style to try and emulate their favourite adventurer.

When of the first music events of the festival is the Trad Stage which takes place in Meeting House Square in Temple Bar. As always a great place to be, and to emphasise the point it is our choice for our most recent promotion with some new Temple Bar hotels special deals ready to add more spice and savings during your Irish trip.

But before all that, there is much preparation still for the big day. All will be sorted in time, including green top hat, garish red beard and symbolic miniature shillelagh. To complete the picture, all that will be needed is a pint of Guinness in either hand. That will be sorted too.
