Waterford City is a leisurely,
enjoyable place to visit. Like Dublin, it has strong associations
with the Vikings who founded the settlement way back in 914. It has
quite a bit of history about it which the visitor can explore through
the several interesting museums that detail the past life of the
city. Add to that, good shopping, nice restaurants and some
atmospheric bars and you will be certain to find plenty to occupy you
during your visit.
A walk along the riverside has a
pleasant relaxing feel and gives some sense to the reasons why the
Viking traders first became interested in making this place the focus
of their activities. Waterford's quays have a vibrant buzz about
them, and is also the location of some of the city's excellent
hotels. A standout choice among these is the superb Granville hotel.
This highly regarded hotel is a family run establishment and has a
deserved reputation for its friendly ambiance and professional
standards - which naturally is 4-star quality throughout.
The hotel has certainly many impressive
features to recommend it, but the two things that you are most likely
to remember most are the drink and the food. You might think that
this may not be surprising for any good Irish establishment, except
that in the case of the Granville it is that bit more exceptional.
What marks it out as special is that both the both the wonderful
Bianconi restaurant and the delightful Thomas Francis Meagher bar
possess a character, ambiance and easy class that many would strive to
emulate, but only few can attain.

It would be superfluous to go into
detail to explain why The Granville has got it so right. A host of
loyal clients can attest to it, but the best picture one can paint
won't outdo reality. Simply, it is best to experience it for
yourself.
You won't need to journey further
through this post to find the obvious choice for our current
promotion, which naturally is for those excellent hotels in
Waterford.
